David Secor

David Secor is an attorney at Benach Collopy LLP. He joined Benach Collopy in March 2021 after working as an attorney with Murphy Law Firm, PC in West Chester, Pennsylvania, since 2019. David has experience advocating for clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts in Arlington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and previously at York County Detention Center, as well as before the Board of Immigration Appeals. He has also represented clients seeking immigration benefits before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. David is a 2019 graduate of Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law and admitted to practice in the state of Maryland. In law school, David worked as an immigration law and policy extern with the National Immigrant Justice Center in Washington, D.C., and a student attorney with Villanova’s Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic. He earned his bachelor’s in government and history from the College of William & Mary in 2014.

David has co-written two published articles on immigration policy: NIJC’s 2019 Report “A Better Way: Community-Based Programming As An Alternative To Immigrant Incarceration” and a 2021 law review article for the Michigan Journal of Race and Law, entitled “A Reparations-Based Approach to Remedying the Trump Administration’s Cancellation of TPS Protections for Haitians.”

David is of half-Haitian descent and loves working with immigrants. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his dog, Billy, hiking, music, history, and Washington sports, however they’re doing.
